Minnesota State Fair GF Baking Contest

NCSG will be sponsoring 3 gluten free baking categories in the Creative Activities competitions this summer. These categories include:  

  • Category 1077 – Quick Bread, Loaf or Muffins
  • Category 1078 – Crackers, Pretzels or Snacks
  • Category 1079 – Cookies or Bars
  Pre-registration is required by 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, August 4th. Entries must be delivered on the west side of Creative Activities building between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 am. on Sunday, August 16th and should be in disposable container (they will not be returned). Recipes must be typed on one side of paper and brought in with submitted entry, including name, address, and telephone number on reverse side of paper. NCSG - HealthFair 11 Booth
August 27 through Labor Day, September 7, 2009

The Northland Celiac Support Group is again partnering with the Anaphylaxis and Food Allergy Association of Minnesota (AFAA) to sponsor a booth in the KARE 11 Healthfair Building at the Minnesota State Fair. At our booth we will be providing educational materials, experts speaking on Celiac Disease and Food Allergies, providing Mad Science presentations, and drawings. As NCSG Sponsors for “A Day at the Fair”, Coborns Delivers and Gluten Free 4 U will be present for one of the NCSG Fair Booth days and are providing drawing giveaway prize(s):

  1. Gluten Free 4 U will be at the Booth on Friday, August 31st and is sponsoring a gift basket drawing worth $30 every other day of the Fair.
  2. Coborns Delivery will be at the Booth on Friday, September 4th and will be having a drawing for a Delivery Pass/Gift Card

If you would like to join in the fun and be a part of this event, please contact Karen Geronime by email (klgeronime@aol.com) or phone (612/267-0288) to leave your name, best way to contact you, hours and day you would like to sign up to volunteer. Volunteers are needed for each day of the Fair. There will be two volunteers assigned to each shift and the volunteer shifts run from:

9:00 a.m. – Noon
Noon – 3 p.m.
3 p.m. – 6 p.m.
6 p.m. – 9 p.m.

Please plan on arriving about a half hour early as it take a while to get into the Fair and walk to the booth. Admission tickets will be provided to volunteers for the day they are volunteering for.
